Re: Megiddo
Ayn's eyes sting with the acidic nature of the air, and the rotting stench that had remained dormant for a while had hit her full blast once Gale had blasted open the seal. It smelled too fresh to be his aura.. He hadn't been bluffing.. ****.
She stares at the ground, having heard One walk in, but for some reason it felt as if her head had grown heavy, and she can't look forward to see who it was that was clogging her air. |
Re: Megiddo
One ignored Havok, he knew what Gale was gonna do, and he did it, he used an old teleporting technique that the angels banned from Abbissians. He still felt horrible over "letting" Jekin die, but he didn't have the strength to voice the mistake he made out loud. He heard the stranger, Hallon, speaking and One finally looked up. "Y-you know where Gale might be going? Tell us. . . . I need to find him! He k-killed Jekin! I'm gonna find him! Where is he going?!" One rises to his feet and steps in front of Hallon.
|
Re: Megiddo
Hallon would normally of wanted a more formal introduction. However, this was a dire situation and he hadn't been around people in ages. He wasn't going to be snippy so fast. "Gale is it? Assuming he doesn't just plan on opening Hell right now he'd go after the Heaven Key. I remember the Angels taking it somewhere....hm it was a base of some sort. I'm sorry, I don't remember anymore of it."
....What felt so horribly wrong? It was awfully strange. She'd been in the state of darkness for quite a while. In fact she still was. Lara couldn't help but wonder if she was dead. That this what happens when you die. No heaven or hell, just darkness. The feeling of pain all over her body scratched that idea off the mental chalkboard. Maybe she WAS alive...but then, why did she feel so terrified? This sinking feeling in her heart. Could... Deciding that the only way to find out if her worst fears were true was to open her eyes and get up, she stirs slightly and open opening her eyes is faced with a very blurry, muddled vision. "Nngh...where's...where's Jekin?" She asked to who ever was closest to her that she could not identify. This was all in her head, everything was fine. It had to be...right? |
Re: Megiddo
Rikali lowers her head. "Lara...Gale killed Jekin. He's dead." She shifts posistions so Lara can see him. Rikali, feeling incrediably horrible for Lara, looks away.
Riki hears this comment. Tears streak her face. She hadn't known Jekin for long, hadn't even really liked him. Her tears were for Lara. ((sorry if that was rather blunt...not in the best of moods right now...)) |
Re: Megiddo
((Woah! It's Hallon.))
The fight was over before Fury even had a chance to help. Briefly he considered chasing after Gale with Ranna, but realized he didn't even know where Gale had went, much less how he'd stop him on his own. He moved farther into the room towards the rest of the group. They'd already lost one man now. An Abbis, one of Gale's own endangered kind. He didn't know Jekin himself but knew One must have known him for longer than any of the rest them had been alive. Just when he's about to approach Hallon and One, he sees Lara begin to stir and talk, and Jekin's body was in plain view. "Oh, no..." |
Re: Megiddo
After a while of standing to the side Leon walks over to the group. He looks at One."I'm sorry about your friend." He switches his veiw over to Hallon. "You speak of the Heaven key but what would happen if Gale posseses both the key of Hades and the key of Heaven?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Hallon frowns. "Then he'll be able to open both gates at will. The results..of either would be catastrophic on it's own. I can only pray that we can stop him."
Upon Lara hearing Jekin and dead she immeadiately snaps upward and looks around. "No! He isn't dead! He can't be..he's my brother. Jekin can't be gone..." Unfortunately, any denying Lara could of done despite the fact that she could feel that something wasn't right was shattered when she saw Jekin's body. She freezes in place, and her whole world shattered in an instant. "He's...." [i]Lara was silent. She had no idea what to do, all she could do was stare. Her brother, all she had left, was dead now. She didn't have anyone anymore. It was like losing her parents all over again, but far worse. She whimpers slightly, but makes no further movement or sound. |
Re: Megiddo
The dragon is amazed that such creatures could feel grief as strong as Lara's. She akwardly places a paw around her and pulls her close to her chest, in a gentle and caring hug belaying her scaly appearance. Rikali whispers words of comfort.
A cloak is settled over Jekin's body-Riki's. Tears still run freely as she tucks it tight over his lifeless face. "Lara...I'm...I'm so sorry." |
Re: Megiddo
"We have to find Gale and stop him while we still have the chance. As long as he has that key we've got no time left. He can use it at any time now. We need to get moving again." Fury looks at Hallon. Indeed there was no time for introductions. "You have anything we can work with?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn is silent, wheezing slightly. Her lungs and throat were screaming at her to get out of there and somewhere far away, but her feet remain planted on the ground, unmoving. She had to be strong. There was too much at risk and too much already lost.
She coughs thickly, and moves forward to Lara, ignoring the burning in her chest caused by moving closer to death. |
Re: Megiddo
After a moment Lara pulls herself away and shakes her head. "I'm....I'm fine..." She turns to leave and go to the hummer to be alone but finds the exit blocked. She frowns and paces around, looking for suitable place of solitude.
Hallon frowns. "All I know is the Heaven Key is located in an Angel outpost. I'm sorry..." He looks at Lara and sighs again. "Poor lass." |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn turns and watches Lara walk past, feeling a hint of understanding. She turns back towards Hallon, swallowing with a bit of effort. "Outpost..." She racks her brain for a few seconds, but comes up with nothing.
|
Re: Megiddo
Hallon smiles slightly. "Well...if we're gonna think. We should do it outside, no?" Hallon looks at the wall and pulls a switch that, until then, blended into the rock so well it seemed invisible. "This place is bigger than it looks. This will lead us inside the farm."
|
Re: Megiddo
One wasn't really paying attention to the others, he was only looking at Lara. He had half a mind to run to her and be with her right now. . . He felt horrible inside. . . He noticed Hallon talking and saying something about going outside. . . He suddenly jumped up. "I-I know where Gale is going." He shoots a glance at Havok. "The Angel Outpost, the home that the Abbissian's were run out of and forced to live in a volcano. Gale is headed to the Forgotten Capital."
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn makes her way towards the exit. She felt horrible that she was having trouble staying and being some sort of comfort to anyone, but if she didn't get out of there she felt as if she would collapse.
She suddenly felt anger. Her fists clench, sending a tightening sensation all up and down her arms as her muscles contract. She feels a rushing surge of violence and grabs the sword which bears the life essence of the serpent before it became stone. Out of control for a split second, she strikes the stone wall repeately, yelling a long string of curses at everything.. Gale, this damned temple, and herself. After a few moments she stops, wheezing loudly. |
Re: Megiddo
Hallon frowns at Ayn and walks up to here. "Come on, lass. Let's get outside." He looks at One. "That could be it, so let's get moving. We can introduce ourselves on the way." He looks at Lara and then at One. "Um...well...perhaps you should talk to her."

I am quite good friends with many who fashion their selves Treasure Hunters, and I believe that you are not simply in this for archeaological, monetary, or adventurous persuit." (it's double-story time!) |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn looks at Hallon, her eyes burning. She nods, and tries to speak but she's completely out of breath. She waves a hand dismissively, then starts to make her way out.
|
Re: Megiddo
"I'll lead the way there, but be warned, it's far away. Gale's probably already there causing chaos with his stone." One walks forward a little. . . but then realizes. . . He turns around and picks up Jekin's body, he figured he's deserves better than being left alone to die in a place where he won't be honored.
|
Re: Megiddo
Gale whirls around in surprise and draws Sin. "Who are you?!"
__ Lara slowlys rises and trudges behind One, staring at her feet as she walks. Hallon keeps an eye on Ayn, somewhat concerned on he seemingly sickly condition. |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn grows increasingly frusturated with herself and this sudden sensitivity to death. After stopping a second time to catch her breath, she looks up at Hallon. "So.. how'd you manage to get such a ****ty job down here?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Hallon laughs nervously. "Well...eh...it was pretty much a fluke." Hallon moves forward wall blocking the exit which happens to be a dresser. They enter a very dusty farm. "Heh, I still remember how to get out."
|
Re: Megiddo
*Feeling quite complimented at the slight social advantage, Kadino's mind races through possible scenarios*
"Well! I am not suprised that you have not seen me before, you do not look the type to enjoy interplanar travel much. Very well then, I shall put all of my cards on the table--be at rest, I am not here to slow you, at least any more than you slow me. I come from another world entirely, one that is not so different than this one. I need to find one whose mind is poisoned, and attempt to unpoison it. I also do not know how I am going to travel again to my own world. You are one with much power, and right now power is something that I sorely need." *Quickly resting both hands on the hilts of the daggers sheathed in the belts, an angry visage appears as in in response to Gale's very thoughts* "Do not try to kill me, trust in me that you cannot. Also trust that I would lose everything I hurry to save, and would not be placable after such a loss." |
Re: Megiddo
Gale normally would of destroyed such a distraction to his plans. However, he was somewhat amused. Besides, with his newfound power he could travel the world before they could escape the shrine. He had all the time in the world. "And why should I help you?"
|
Re: Megiddo
She steps into the dust-ridden farm, blinking. She wrinkles her nose, then sneezes. "Ah.. The elements are out to infect me.."
|
Re: Megiddo
"I do not come to you offering my services, but I will."
*Kadino continues with a long sigh that quickly changes into a devilish smirk. Clearly knowing that he is cooberating with evil, he simply allows himself to be caught up in the mood* "You wish to find something, and I simply can help you. My needs would need to be met first, but I believe that I could make the day or two worth it to your quest... Especially assuming your anger tries to undermine itself as you progress." |
Re: Megiddo
Hallon smiles at the dusk sky. "Ah...it's been so long since I've been outside.." Lara trudges out of the farm and heads straight for the hummer. She has a seat in the back and makes no achknowledgement to anyone.
__ Gale stretches and stiffles a yawn. "I don't feel inclined to help anyone, but for the sake of curiosity...what is it you would like done?" |
Re: Megiddo
"I need to track down, subdue, and attempt a ritual on an undead werewolf. Once we find him, we must ascertain if he is soulless. If not, I must try to redeem his body. Otherwise we must kill him and collect his remains. After this the ritual will take one day for its casting and my recovery. Then he will be travelling with us too, and hopefully he will be able to aide me in my debt to you. Also, when you get what it is you desire, we must learn how to return home and do so. I do not know if I could navigate the way myself."
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn flops down on the ground, lying flat on her back. She stares up at the sky blankly after pulling her hair free of the elastic band holing it up and lets her hair flow freely.

Re: Megiddo
HaVoK looks up at the crew...knowing the location of The place One speaks of.
''Long ago, when war raged on, there was a place, now long forgotten. Where many faught, and lost their lives, Trying to win an unending fight. The Holy Angels, and the fearsome abbis, Fighting for a world of bliss. They faught long and hard, till nearly all had fell, The hope all gone for the city to dwell. The Angels holy, struck them down, Layed the abbis on the ground. Now there a few who remember still, the place, the long forgotten capital.'' HaVoK stopped singing and looked at the crowd. ''That is 'The fall of botrh heaven and hell, the fight of the forgotten capital' a song of the high angels'' HaVoK looked around at the valient crew. ''And there are more powerfull beings than angry villigers in that place...the western angels may have departed for the great war...but the northan ones...i...I don't know. Even Gale will find challenging foes perhaps. The capital is many leagues from here...and it is a hard road...we must depart.'' HaVoK blasted an energy pulse at the entrance he had earlier blocked, and once more the shrine was covered up. He walked away...his golden glow faded as he went. He feared that the memories of the great war would bring hatred for him from certain members of the company...A western angel, half angel anyway. They had to be quick...for the Key of high was a sacred thing...and no evil should hold it. |
Re: Megiddo
Hayate had remained silent after hearing of Jekin's death. He hadn't even spoken to the guy, but regret was something he'd rather not dwell on.
Angels? Oh joy. I look forward to a warm reception from them. From the tone, it's fairly clear that he seems to have a little grudge against angels but he refuses to elaborate as he gets into the hummer |
Re: Megiddo
The dragon shakes her head, halfway amused at Hayate's comment. She understood a little more about his grudge then the average person would, but does not elaborate as well. She stands outside, waiting for the hummer's departure.
Riki sighs heavily and climbs into the vechile. Once inside, she buckles her seat belt and stares out the window. |
Re: Megiddo
One sees everybody getting into the Humvee, and getting ready to leave. He stood there, with a corpse over his shoulder, anger filled him. "Do you people have no respect!? We just lost someone to our cause! And you want to continue without SAYING ANYTHING?!" One looks over at Lara, who is not crying, but looks as helpless as a newborn baby, this helped ground One a little. He walks over to her. "Lara. . . I know you'd probably not want to make this decision, but no one else here knows Jekin like you do, not even I. . . But, w-what do you think we should do with the body? If you want to bury it, tell me where. I-I'll dig the h-hole." This was very difficult for One.
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara, silently steps out of the van and doesn't even make eye contact with One. "Put him down...I'll take care of him."
Hallon examines the hummer and jeeps, unsure what to say. "...Well...these are new." |
Re: Megiddo
One doesn't question Lara, he bends down and lifts Jekin off his shoulders. Then he gently places him down in front of Lara.
|
Re: Megiddo
HaVoK turns to the weeping procession.
''Jekin is dead...and no matter how long you take over him he will still be dead. I'm sorry for your loss...but the fate of the REST of the planet is still in the balance...we cannot wait because just one is lost.'' HaVoK looks at them, knowing his words are harsh...and yet...he knows that they both understand. |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn sits up slowly, rubbing the stinging out of her eyes. She gets up, pulling her hair back into a ponytail. She felt better, but this was only the beginning. The beginning.. She didn't wish death upon anyone, but she did feel it was impossible to avoid..
A pain builds in her throat. She looks down. |
Re: Megiddo
"You're right. We cannot stop. But I can. Havok, you know the way to the capital, I will stay back and help Lara." He turns his attention to her. "Of course, unless you think you'll be fine on your own."
|

"Well, it seems that we are kindred in task. I am foreign to this world, but not to its ways. First, I must ask you where we are and if you have any maps. I curse that I have not been able to find a map of these lands! If you have a map, it would help me very much to see it."
